Printing coupons can be costly if you don't save on ink and paper! Do not spend a fortune on ink to print coupons. That would make saving counter productive. Below are some *Tips* on saving on printing supplies.
- Try to always have your printer cartridges re-filled. You can find that many office and drug stores, offer this service at a very reasonable cost. Examples: Walgreens, Office Depot, Office Max, Staples, etc. Prices average about $10 for black ink and $15 for color. This is half the cost of buying a new name brand cartridge.
- Buy store brand ink cartridges. If you do not have access to a refill service in your area, or your printer ink catridge is not refillable, then you can choose a store brand cartridge in your make and size. These run between$15-$20 for black ink. You save about 25-30% this way.
- Set your printer to Fast Print (uses less ink), and to Black and White or Greyscale (whichever option is available to you). You do not have to print coupons in color, and color ink costs way more. Stores will accept coupons in black and white..
- Change your printer settings by going to Control Panel, Printers, then Printer Preferences.
- Use your complete sheet of paper. If you only print one coupon out, then flip the paper around, and run it through for your next print. This only works if you know an additional image will not be printing on the whole page, and also if you are only printing an additional 1-2 coupons.
- Try and print multiple coupons at once. If you see a few coupons you would like to print on the same site, go ahead and select the ones you like and print. Most of these sites will print 3 coupons to a page.
- I recycle a lot of different types of paper. If you get mail that doesn't have personal information on it, and the back is blank, use that. Also kids school work. You know that stack of papers that you get at the end of each week, and you just keep them all. Check to see if the back is blank and use that. Recycling is the best route to go when printing. All the stores are worried about is what is on the front of the coupon, not the back. As long as the coupon can be scanned and shows the expiration dates, you are good to go!

Happy Couponing!
